Framing Brett Weston Prints - part II

Posted by: Joshua Craig    in Photography

OK. So last night I helped to frame some Brett Weston prints. First off let me just say, they are amazing. There were abstracts, nudes, landscapes, cityscapes and more.

We had 41 prints at the studio, 8×10s 11×14s and 20×24s. Each of them were masterfully printed with deep, rich blacks, creamy whites and all the tones in between. Nothing short of exquisite.

I was told that these prints could probably fetch an estimated $250,000 total. Unbelievable.

If you’re interested in seeing them they will be on display at JRB Art Gallery from April 4th through April 26th.

If you’d like to see even more of Brett Weston’s work check out the show “Out of the Shadow” March 20 through May 18, 2008 at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.

Framing Brett Weston Prints

Posted by: Joshua Craig    in Latest Posts, Photography

I have been afforded the opportunity to assist in the framing some original Brett Weston prints. We will be framing about 30 or so prints. I am totally ecstatic!

This happens next week. I’ll post more after the fact!

For those of you who don’t know:

Brett Weston (December 16, 1911 - January 22, 1993) was an American photographer and the second son of photographer Edward Weston. Brett’s photographs often approach abstraction, with subjects that are difficult to decipher. He is best known for his work in the dunes around Oceano, California, a subject that he shared with his father Edward Weston.

Need someone to shoot your next event? Need a interesting portrait done?

I specialize in shooting interesting, out of the ordinary events. My favorite things to shoot are edgier: roller derby, motorcycles, art shows, tattoos. But, I’ve also been known to shoot the occasional wedding, reception etc. I just love to take photos. Any kind of photos.

So if you’re in need of someone to take photos for you or are interested in some of my current photos, please contact me!
