Christmas Myth #7: Mary rode into Bethlehem on a donkey. Nowhere in the bible does it say that Mary rode into Bethlehem on a donkey. She might have, but it isn’t “biblical”. The earliest record of this idea comes from the Protoevangelium of James (an apocryphal gospel). The day of the Lord shall itself bring it to pass as the Lord will.
