Christmas Myth #8: The 12 days of Christmas (also known as Twelvetide or Christmastide) are the 12 days leading up to Christmas. According to the story the 12 days of Christmas are actually the days between the birth of Jesus and the coming of the Magi (the epiphany). This “official” season was proclaimed at the Council of Tours in 567 and marks a period of feasting and celebration which ends on the twelfth night (January 6th). #christmasmyths #christmasmythsbeardedboredguy
